Rotor INPower Spider Crankset
The Rotor INPower spider bundle gets you started easily with bike power training, whilst providing excellent data to help you optimise both your riding and bike set-up. The spider bundle allows you to choose your own combination and easily adapt it to your needs.
The INPower is Rotor's entry level system, whilst still boasting most of the features of the step-up models. It measures power from one leg only.
Buying the bundle together saves both money and time. Just choose your spider, crank length and chainrings all on this page.

Rotor INPower Spider Crankset Features
Power optimisation
Added stiffness provided by the Direct Mount technology improves the direct transfer of your pedalling torque.
Optimum Chainring Angle data allows you to finetune your Q RINGS® oval chainrings to adjust your Optimum Chainring Position. This will maximise transmission of power in your pedal rotation.
Adaptability
The Spider set up allows you to interchange elements for your ideal combination. It is easy to change chainrings for different races and terrains, letting you optimise your power for each and every race.
Accuracy
The power is measured in the core of the crankset, giving precise and comprehensive data to improve your pedalling performance.
Power is measured in the left leg through two sets of opposing gauges in the axle. The metrics include power output, cadence, torque effectiveness and pedal smoothness.
Robust unit
The electronics are housed inside a sealed water-proof axle, keeping the power meter protected and the rider well centered. Powered by standard AA batteries, the unit can last for up to 300 hours.
Data analysis
The ROTOR Power App gives you access to detailed analysis that is normally only available in labs:
-
TORQUE 360 and power stroke effectiveness
-
Optimum Chainring Angle (OCA) helps to identify your optimal chainring position.
-
Pedal smoothness
Compatibility
Connect to your bike computer through ANT+™ and Bluetooth® Smart, so you can see your bike power whilst training on Zwift or other platforms.
Easily analyse data with Training Peaks. Training Peaks offer a free 'Fundamentals of Power' Training Plan to help you get started.
Rotor INPower Spider Options
You can build your own INPower Spider system to suit your own requirements, whilst saving money and time through our bundle offers. See our Rotor FAQ for more indepth information about the options, but in brief:
4-bolt or 5-bolt?
This depends solely on your bike set-up - there is no benefit to 4 or 5 bolt systems, so you can choose either if you are buying a full new chainset. Shimano recently moved to 4-bolt Spiders, whereas older Shimano and other brands use 5-bolt.
Crank length?
Choice of 165mm, 170mm, 172.5mm or 175mm, depending on your height and leg length. 165mm would suit a 5'4" rider, whereas 175mm would be for a 6'2" rider. It is a myth that shorter cranks are better for triathletes.
Q Rings or Round rings?
The oval shape of Q-rings optimises the force applied to the pedal by effectively putting the downward part of the pedal cycle in a larger gear. Going over the top of the cycle is then in a smaller gear. Q-Rings are particularly useful when you only need to change up or down gear for a few seconds before changing back, but can be tricky to master. See more info on Q-rings here.
Chainring sizes?
Spiders are compatible with 1x and 2x chainring systems. Most riders will work well with a standard 2x chainring set size of 39/53.
A smaller size such as 34/50 would suit a slower rider or if you are climbing lots of hills.
Time Trial riders often use 1x 54T system or similar (a single front chainring) as they rarely change the front chainring as they have an optimal set up with sufficient range for flat courses on the rear cassette. 1x single chainrings are not recommended for more varied courses.
If you want a chainring combination not listed here, including aero rings, please leave a note at the checkout, along with a phone number and we will confirm your personal combination.
